Governance

AI Governance

AI governance is the system of policies, controls, and accountabilities that determines what AI is allowed to do inside an organization, who approves AI deployments, how AI decisions are audited, and how risk is managed. It typically covers privacy, bias, security, and regulatory compliance.

AI Governance in practice

In a mid-sized organization, AI governance usually starts with three documents: an AI use policy for staff, a register of AI systems in use with an owner for each, and an approval step for new use cases that touch personal information. In Canada it maps to rules such as PIPEDA, Quebec Law 25 and, for public bodies, provincial privacy acts. Remolda sets this up through AI strategy and governance, including an AI use policy.
