On-site workshops in Toronto are arranged when a kickoff or training day works better in the room. In our experience most teams need one on-site day at most; it depends on how many departments join.
Ontario and federal rules that apply in Toronto
AI in hiring. Since January 1, 2026, Ontario's Employment Standards Act requires publicly advertised job postings to disclose whether the employer uses AI to screen, assess or select applicants. Employers with fewer than 25 employees are exempt.
Health information. Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act is one of the provincial health-information laws deemed substantially similar to PIPEDA. Any AI tool that touches patient records needs a documented data flow and a vendor setup that fits it.
Public-sector bodies. Bill 194 (2024) amended Ontario's FIPPA: privacy impact assessments before collecting personal information and mandatory breach reporting to the IPC have applied since July 1, 2025. Hospitals, school boards, colleges and universities in Toronto also fall under the new cyber security regulation from July 1, 2026.
Banks and insurers. OSFI Guideline E-23 applies to all federally regulated financial institutions and covers AI and machine learning models. It takes effect May 1, 2027.
Private businesses. PIPEDA governs personal information in commercial activity in Ontario. Where data moves to a US-hosted model, the processing location is documented and disclosed.
